End-to-End Water Treatment Solutions for Solar Panel Factories
May 9, 2024In the process of manufacturing large home appliances, high quality water is essential. Multiple cleaning steps are necessary to prepare the surface metal to receive specialty coatings. No water mineral spots can be left behind when these coatings are applied.
Kleinfelder Water Technologies was tasked with replacing an existing system that had a single pass reverse osmosis (RO) and two-bed deionizer. Through utilizing a double-pass RO, better water quality could be achieved, eliminating the need for acidic and caustic elements. Challenges included the need for continuous operation of the plant, as well as the required small footprint of the equipment. It was discovered early in the investigation that no commercially available RO equipment would fit in the space.
Taking all of this into consideration, Kleinfelder teamed with an external fabricator to design and manufacture a unique equipment setup that fit the space and would meet or exceed production and quality requirements. Along with its innovative smaller footprint, the double-pass RO system can be operated individually (redundancy) or in parallel (double the flow) to provide the client the more versatility, helping to keep up with demands.
